I never thought I'd make a record and have a physical copy of it to hold in my hands. This itself is a dream come true. As I write this, it's a Tuesday in November in Burbank, California. It's 73 degrees and I'm drinking coffee; there's nothing extra special about this day. Life isn't all about the big sweeping moments, it's the little ones, like this. I wrote these songs and slowly learned the theme of them over time; it wasn't a lightbulb moment. We spend so much of our time defining our worth based on what other people tell us – and we think of that as the truth. It's not. Writing this record made me realize that I am not defined by failed relationships, infatuation that will never come to fruition, or men who can't make up their damn minds. I am so much more than that – independent, talented, I really love breakfast food... and that's just the beginning. It took me awhile to realize. And I still doubt myself. But once you really learn your worth, you can’t go back.
